Description Go-Bots! Late during Generation 2, a number of small Transformers were produced to cash in on the popularity of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, scaled perfectly to go with those lines' tracks and playsets (1:64 scale). Twelve molds were made in total. Six were used in G2 over three different waves for new characters and redecos as pre-existing guys, and later found use as the main six Spychangers in Robots in Disguise (the ones who appeared in the cartoon) and other characters for the first Universe line. Four of the remaining six molds were later used as additional Spychangers in RiD and later for Universe. The remaining two - the magenta Mercedes-Benz sport coupé and the green off-road 4WD vehicle pictured here - were never used for whatever reason, possibly because the molds were lost or destroyed.

One of the initial six would later be used to create the exclusive for BotCon 1995, Nightracer, the first female Transformers toy ever made. Get more info at the Transformers Wiki!

Also pictured are early prototype heads used for BotCon and Club exclusives. I've got a close-up picture of them that I'll be posting shortly so that you can get a better look at them.
