Description

Ever since the release of the Last Stand of the Wreckers series from IDW, I'd been hoping that we would get a new toy depicting the Autobot Rotorstorm, simply because I enjoyed the character so much. We got new depictions of every other new Wrecker recruit in that story, as well as the central antagonist Overlord, but Rotorstorm felt like the odd mech out. It got to the point where I was asking about new versions of him at conventions.

Well, Generations Selects finally granted my wish. Retooled from the Siege Spinister release, Rotorstorm is a perfect update of the old toy. I ended up modding him a bit, however. First, I painted one of his packed-in guns to match the other one - I used masking tape to conceal the yellow bits, then painted the rest with a layer of Testors Model Master Acrylic Medium Grey as a base coat, with another color of Testors Model Master paint (either Cobalt Blue or Deep Pearlescent Purple, I can't recall which). Beyond that, I added parts from the Shockwave Lab SL-38 kit (gap fillers) and the Matrix Workshop M-37 kit (guns/engine pods). I'm very happy with him.
