the MLP Reflections comic arc and the Seige of the Crystal Empire are canon in my MLP universe, so I will explain what's going on.

BACKGROUND:
in an alternate universe to the Reflections comic arc, everypony found a way to purify alternate Celestia and Luna without King Sombra sacrificing himself. now that Alternate Equestria doesn't need Sombra's rule, he decides to stay in Equestria to be with Celestia. he also has found a helpful spell that will allow him to remain in Equestria without creating time paradoxes. however, when he encountered the reformed Sombra from Seige of the Crystal Empire arc, they fused together because of paradox magic to create one new Sombra, one without the essence of Umbra in his very DNA... and with a cutie mark! He now rules Equestria with Celestia and they give birth to a colt they named Skye. soon when it was time for Celestia and Luna to retire, Sombra also retired to continue to live with Celestia. indeed Sombra is an excellent example that love can spark anywhere, even in alternate universes.

oh, and that Sombra the Mane Six fought in Season 9? That Sombra was actually the remnants of Sombra's Umbrum magic taken into physical form. it just proves to be as powerful as the original evil Sombra by shattering the Tree of Harmony along with the Elements of Harmony. however, at one point it managed to possess Skye, becoming Umbra Skye.
