Description Chapter name: Dragon knights.

Founding Chapter:  Salamanders.

Main colours: Silver and White.

Chapter symbol: Dragon holding a sword.

Homeworld: Krakarr.

World classification: Feudal, industrial.

Fortress monastery: Goddess of Warriors temple.

Pre-Unification:

The world of Krakarr was an industrial and feudal society before the world was integrated with the Imperium. The world itself is considered a peaceful world on the outside but on the surface the people lived in industrial fortress city-states. Because of the recent discovery of fossil fuels and gunpowder the People of Krakarr developed crude but effective tanks, guns and aircraft. Because of this life became difficult for all city dwellers as there was fear that another city would take them as slaves.

Unification and birth of a chapter:

When the Space marine legion the Salamanders arrived on the planet the inhabitancies put up an incredibly strong fight that the leader was impressed by their adaptive fighting prowess. After a month long war he then ordered a cease fire and invited the knights of the world to his ship to explain to them the benefits of joining the Imperium. The knights saw reason and agreed but they demanded that their culture be left alone in exchange all future knights who would be trained would become a Salamander space marine. However after the 21st Chapters was established the Knights saw their chance and created a successor Chapter known as the Dragon knights.

While they knew about the pure gene seed of the Ultramarines they wanted the Salamanders gene seed as they saw them as their father chapter and therefore need to have their gene seed. However due to the malfunctioning Ossmodula zygote that the marines inherited they grew spikes on their forearms and heads. While they knew something like this would happen their apothecary's try to limit the mutation to avoid the Inquisition disbanding the legion. Because they suffer the same affliction they see the Black Dragons as a brother Chapter. So when the two chapters meet in non-combat they feast together, share stories and practice fighting so there is a strong friendship between the two Chapters.

Culture pre-unification:

The Culture of Krakarr is pretty strict due to the feudal system they live in. The inhabitance of Krakaar lives in fortress city-states. Each one protected by a group of Knights who unlike most feudal worlds are not nobility but are regular people who have fought in a compaction to achieve Knighthood. The compaction for Knighthood is straightforward. The competitors have to fight through the challengers, combat, leadership and teamwork. Those who do not pass are dead but for those who pass are sent to the Goddess of Warriors temple. The Temple is considered sacred and neutral ground so fighting is forbidden.

For those who fight on the grounds and regardless of who started it are sent to the catacombs to fight the creatures of darkness. It is rare for people to come out from the catacombs but for those who do is never the same and commits suicide. After the Knighting and blessings which takes around 6 months the Knights are sent back to their cities with armour and their weapons. When the Knights arrive back there is a celebration ant at the end of it the Knights choose their wife who are from a prestigious female warrior order and are given an estate by the city's ruler.
If a Knight dies however their family loses the estate but they are granted a house fit for an order warrior.

As for the people who are not knights they live in a variety of different situations due to social class. This is because the lower classes are believed to be the backbone of the city's survival so they are treated with some respect. However the higher classes are considered to be untrustworthy people excluding the Knights. This is because that when a higher class person walks outside of their home they were a mask for the men and an elegant veil for the women.

Post-unification culture:

Because of their allegiance to the Salamanders the culture was mostly left alone but was changed due to the planet being united. The Culture for the Knights was the one that was most changed so while they still compete to become a Knight brother and do some of the things what a Knight does such as, Getting blessed/ Knighted and choosing a wife they do not get an estate unless they are an officer.

The female warrior order became a Sisters’ of battle order known as the Galactic light. As for the normal military they became Guardsmen armed with Elysian equipment as most of the military of the planet in the first place was oriented around paratroopers.
Organisation.

The Dragon Knights mostly follow the Codex Astarties as it hold many tactics but their organization does not fully follow the codex. This is mostly due to how they judge people in the Knights arenas. The ones who show thieving abilities are turned into the Stealth dragon’s scouts who have their own set of honour rules.  The ones who show fortitude become devastators as the fortitude shows they can handle the power of the weapons.

Ranks:

The ranks for the Dragon Knights are as follows.

Knight Brother Novice.

Knight Brother.

Knight Sargent.

Dragon warrior = Captain.

High Dragon warrior= Commander.

Dragon guard= Body guards.

Grand Knight of the Dragon= Chapter Master.

Notable battles:

Trycon prime.

The first battle the Dragon knights ever did as a chapter was on their neighbour planet Trycon due to an Ork infestation. The battle lasted for a few weeks that ended in a Knights victory. Since then the planet has had Ork trouble but have had a Knights presences there for a long time.

Vailon.

When the forces of Chaos reared their heads to a planet close to the Cadia gate the 57th Cadia as well as the 3rd and 7th Knights Company’s where the only Imperium forces in the area. The Knights were quick to respond and too eager to fight Chaos for the first time. While most of the Knights kept their cool some of them got a little too excited and charged in. The war lasted around a month before Chaos retreated back to the warp. However those who charged in became a little more interested in carnal desires. At the time the High Dragon warrior just thought that they missed their wives and headed back to Krakarr.

But before they even reached the system there was talk amongst the Knights about incest and orgy's before the High Dragon warrior realised that they were tainted. The High Dragon warrior then ordered the tainted to be killed before they reached the home world. No one knows what truly happened because when the ship 'His fury' jumped to warp was never seen again. However there have been sights of traitor Knights who are in league with Slaanesh.
The Knights have since had hatred to the Slaaneshi worshipers as they took away their brothers.

Talmara.

When the Eldar attacked the system of Talmara 7 Knights Company's where deployed to the system to quell the xenos. It was no easy task and the Knights where eventually bogged down in trench warfare. But then their boltgun's became unusable due to lack of maintenance along with their power armour which soon became unusable for the Company. However a tactical group found an abandoned mechanicus forge that was used during the Unification wars. Inside they found a large amount of Phobos pattern bolters and Maximus armour.

As quickly as they were found they were issued to the Knights. The war then quickly turned in their favour as they got their second wind despite the inferior power armour and blotgun tech. After the Eldar defeat they returned home and began to request that the Phobos bolters and Maximus armour be issued to all members of their chapter. There was an extensive debate about the subject but it was then decided that mechanicus on their world would remake the pattern but with a few modification's to keep up with evolving bolters the same was for the power armour but the brothers could decide if they wanted the new armour or Maximus armour.  But since finding the lost bunker they have had several requests from the mechanicus to help them find other bunkers and protect them.  This friendship however is seen by some as a move for the mechanicus to get space marine slaves while the Dragon Knights see it as a beneficial partner ship.

Notable Knights:

Dragon warrior Kalvarr of blood.

Kalvarr is one of the few Knights who come from a rich family. Because of this he was never truly recognized. But the massacre of Galva changed all that as he was the only survivor and lasted by making raids on Tau forces. He welds a power sword known as Deniva a weapon he found in one of the mines of Galva. Because of Deniva's blood red blade he was titled 'of blood'.

Stealth Dragon Knight Sargent Hallva of the Iron city.

Hallva was originally a street rat in the Iron city. Over time he learnt how to fend for himself and joined in the competition. With his use of how he fended for himself he won very quickly. But due to his actions he was refused Knighthood and instead was introduced to the Stealth dragons who are the scouts of the Dragon Knights. He may have been a little reluctant at first but accepted the job.
With his use of scavenging and stealth techniques he became famous through the Knights.

Grand Knight of the Dragon Infata.

Throughout his career Infata was always seen as a possible Chapter master due to his leadership, tactics unwavering loyalty and his commitment. But despite this he has on occasion made allies with aliens much to his chapter’s displeasure but these alliances always worked out. Like other chapter masters before him he welds the Dragon's blade, a large two handed power sword that is strangely shaped.
