Description CG Commission for

The image inspired by one of illustrations of Haccan (one of my CG artists favorite!!!). It really took my time a while to finish this one though ;;___;; but yeah...I'm really glad how it turned out eventually

As some of you might remember, yes, my laptop was already dead. So I borrowed *SheCow desktop for working on this piece T___T Thanks a lot my friend! without you, I definitely end up like a bum!

All characters belong to the commissioner, not me of course D:

Tools :: Painter X, Photoshop CS
Time :: ....many weeks

Hopefully when I get my new Macbook Pro, I should be able to work on CG again...*cry*

Yes indeed She just finished the first one, can't wait to see the second one but I was slot 2 and 5 respectively so I have to wait at least a little while. I'll squirm till then.

But then when you get the commissions it's the sweetest feeling to know that your creation is now on view in a whole new way for the world to see.

I use my commissions as a way to hopefully catch the interest of people. I know a few artists to where I saw something they'd commissioned and now I'm a fan of their characters and their worlds. I'm jealous that so many people out there care about how they're doing though they'll never meet and that interest is both for the creator and their characters. ^_^ Just want a fan base, that I do.

No, I do love paying people for their efforts and seeing how they see my characters, the looks in their eyes . . .

Yeah, I agree with you that it's actually just as much for me as it is for everyone else.

ahh I never thought of it like that. The art I come across usually inspires to me write more of my own. For a while I was always looking for new stories to read but I've got quite a backlog of them now. hehe My own fault I suppose.

Me to, I certainly have a slight addiction though I'm just getting started.

I suppose the art isn't 100% for me. I like being able to give my readers a visual of the characters. For the stories I currently read I would love to see fanart for them.

I'm not very good at drawing people so that's one reason I like to commission. It's very hard for me not to get more but I've gotten kinda irritated at the unprofessional manner of some (not Ecthelian tho, very patient and prompt).

I agree with your point, it is also nice to have a visual, set in stone physical characteristics that can so easily change in an author's mind.

SweetYuya In reply to KyoukiSumeragi [2008-10-05 07:26:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I suck at drawing myself. It's frustrating, but I think I much prefer having someone who's incredibly talented draw them instead. So far my experiences have been good. *SheCow and *UdonNodu were both excellent, total pleasure to work with. Fast as hell too...

With my fic, there are a lot of things that really could use a visual because it's a crossover. I'm dragging Bleach fans into the Wheel of Time...they seem to be enjoying it thus far. Interesting to explain things, and I've become more and more detailed as the chapters go, but a visual is going to help them a lot I think.

Lol, I tried to introduce to the world a ..."mary sue" from X/1999 but it wasn't so much hooking her up with Subaru as much as it was about challenging destiny and fate, whether they are changable or not (revealing how I really feel about those two words). But the stupid yaoi fangirls were so offended that I would claim Subaru was straight (long story about my own personal beliefs there) I had to take the story down and now...it's my dA name? lol....

Y'know, the best drawings I've got so far were ones that I didn't know when or if they were going to get done Wish that wasn't the case but it's true...course there wasn't any doubt about this one :heart*

SweetYuya In reply to KyoukiSumeragi [2008-10-05 08:15:51 +0000 UTC]

yaoi fangirls.... I don't get them. I don't get the appeal of yaoi either. I've tried to read some and I think there are maybe 1 or 2 that haven't bothered me, but really it does nothin' for me. I either react adversely and cringe, or nothing at all. Shame there is so much yaoi art of my fav chars...I've learned to lie to myself about those. "Why, that's not yaoi! That's just a friendly manhug! yeah!"

Either way, it's sad that your story was so harassed you felt like taking it down. Everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions. Those who disagree should just keep their mouths shut if it's not having a direct effect on them. No one was forcing them to read it. Offering a helpful critique is one thing, but bashing a story because you dislike the sexual orientation is just childish.

It bothers me greatly to see others being harangued because someone doesn't like the way they think. -_- If they didn't like it, why did they read it? And why did they comment on it? Argh..makes me angry for you. LOL

I'm certainly amazed with the commissioned pieces I have. I can't believe something so beautiful came in such a short amount of time. I'm truly envious of such talent.

Btw, I like the reference to Ryu Hayabusa on your page.

KyoukiSumeragi In reply to SweetYuya [2008-10-05 18:19:03 +0000 UTC]

Ryu Hayabusa? I've referenced someone I don't even know? *gasp* fo' shame.

Anyway, thanks for standing up for me. It actually made me cry I was so upset at the time. ...And then I incorporated the idea into my current story about how different thinking in that world can actually get you killed, not just booed off of the imaginary stage that is known as the internet.

As for yaoi, so long as the creator blatantly intended it (Gravitation, Loveless) I don't mind it. With CLAMP, they make all but the manliest men at the very least bisexual bordering on gay, but not outrightly so. So what if someone takes an interest in you in that kind of way? There are so many different kinds of love that yaoi fangirls can easily apply to their own lives but heaven forbid you try to develop an idea, story or character that would dare imply there is more to them than who they do or do not want to get into bed with -_-

Anyway, if you go into my favs gallery you can see some of the other pieces I've done from great artists

LOL Ryu likes to say "Rin Pyo To Sha Kai Jin Retsu Zai Zen!" in the game Dead or Alive. [link]
Aww, that makes me feel even more upset that you had to suffer that. Flames can be quite detrimental to the writer/artist, and they are usually given by people who've never even attempted to create something of their own. They have no idea how it feels to have your work torn apart for any reason.

Ah see I don't watch/read any of the CLAMP stuff. Don't know much about it either. I suppose that just means I'm not the typical anime fangirl, but I really have no clue. Looking at my anime/manga collection I just see action based stories with little to no romance involved.

I will!

I got the phrase from X/1999 as well as Tactics I never played Dead or alive but I'm glad it's in more places than one.

I never thought of that. My problem is that I have pretty low self esteem and at the time it was at a very VERY all time low.

I like movies with more action and less romance too. I have many series that I love just for the story and the characters and am more interested in developments than who loves who ^_^

ahh, it's been ages since I saw X last. I've been a DoA fan for a while, though I'm so annoyed the newest one is on the XBox 360, meaning I can't play it. We have enough game systems already, must they force me to buy more? evil bastards...

I imagine that just dragged you down further. That's just awful. I know I was absolutely terrified to post my first chapter of CoT. I put it off for at least a month and even considered doing it under a different screen name. Finally got the courage to post it. So far -knock on wood- I haven't had any flames. I've got several really good reviewers who just make my day.

Course, I finally got someone to go through and critique starting last night and now I'm screaming 'oh god how could I have made that mistake?!' She's too damn sharp LOL Only the most observant would catch most of what she's found.

Same here!

Nowadays I think more than critiques I would really just like people to read my stories and love my characters too ^_^

So do you have stories on dA? I figure that it would be good for me to take an interest in others if I want the same respect back ne? ^_^

Yeah, when I got flamed I took it down and moved it to a personal website. But because it received absolutely no attention, I took the website down. Maintaining dA was plenty enough work I didn't need a nearly nonexistent site and story :S

DoA...right! *had to think* My friend is into Fatal Frame. Me? I like DDR Supernova2 and FF12

That and 22 different anime series to watch, a story of my own to write (3 books in total) and Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion

SweetYuya In reply to KyoukiSumeragi [2008-10-06 02:59:10 +0000 UTC]

Well I think I've got a lot of readers, I just wish I could more reviewers. I have quite a few that are regulars and one in particular who's reviews I depend on. I'm not satisfied until I get his take on the chapter, seriously. I've asked him more than once if he was being paid by my husband. LOL The reviews I get from Jazzmaster are soooo long and detailed too. I nearly faint every time I get one. (from happiness, of course)

I posted one chapter of CoT here and it was a headache. I'll probably be going back and cleaning up my first 15 chapters on FF because they really are getting to be a stark contrast to my current style. Well, I shouldn't say style. I've just improved my skill since I first began, so much so that the first few chapters are almost embarrassing. Chapters 1-23 are posted on my FF page, along with several other stories though I'm not working on them right now.

Awww Don't let them discourage you. Easier said than done, I know. I stopped writing for a month after a pseudo-flame I received on a one shot I wrote just to clear my thoughts. Self imposed writers block I think it was. I wanted to write but I was so disheartened I killed my muse off unintentionally. Thankfully, she's long since risen from the ashes.

Ahh I used to play WoW for a long time, but for regular consoles I've been playing Soul Calibur 3 and Bleach: The Shattered Blade a lot lately. I'm usually absorbed in reading WoT or trying to catch up on the back log of story updates. dA distracts me to no end as well. I've got entirely too much on my plate right now. I do it to myself though, I swear.

Well gimme a link for you ff account and I'll take a look

I only have one or two people who are readers so you're very lucky and none get a chance to read very often

I have a friend who does a VERY in depth review but it's a bit too in depth and he has a baby son to take care of now so I don't both him. He can only go over a page at a time.

I just quit writing on that story because I decided to actually write what was in my head ^^

And I almost murdered my art muse years ago ...PHOENIX TIME!

It's always a dual between Oblivion and anime and dA

[link] Hope you enjoy it.

You think? Do post your stories on FF too? I imagine you'd get a lot more readers that way. I don't exactly equate dA with literature. The only story I have ever read here belongs to my friend from FF, =ArjetLuna . Of course, these days I don't go looking for more stuff to read.

Ahh, I recently asked ~Eveira to go through and critique CoT as a favor to me. She's knowledgeable in both Wheel of Time and Bleach so she can really give me a good perspective. Which reminds me, I need to respond to her latest reviews. It's kind of painful to see where I've made mistakes, but if I don't know, how will I ever improve?

I have a few small stories I wrote just to get them out of my head. CoT never seems to leave though. The more I write, the more ideas I get. It's getting harder and harder to be satisfied with each chapter, my standards just keep increasing and the bar is being set higher.

breathe some life into her!

dA usually wins out, simply because I spend half my time here just answering messages. If I let them just build up I'll never find my way out of the mire.

my mom's friend got me hooked on Lillian Jackson Braun's series 'The Cat Who...' when I was younger and ever since then I've wanted a Siamese. We've had Kibi (and Mugen) for almost 3 years now, and I couldn't be happier. She is just the perfect cat, I've never seen one that acts like she does. You can tell she's a pedigreed animal, that's for sure.

Before that we had birds...way too many freakin' birds.

[link]

That was her. We had to put her down when we moved. She was already around 10 but the new owners would not have wanted her and she would not have made the move She hated new people and frightened easily

We've had rabbits, mice, frogs, goats, dogs, cats, pigs...and a bird...almost kept the bat too ...lol
