Description *GASP* Art that isn't pokemon related?!

"Manticores are beasts of legend, a myth of Persian origin. They appear with the head of a man, three rows of teeth (like a shark) body of a lion, dragon or lion like paws, a scorpian like tail, and/or wings and horns.
They are said to have a voice like trumpets or pipes, to be very agile, and may shoot poisonous spines to either paralyze or kill its victims. It devours its prey whole. It leaves no clothes, bones, or possessions of the prey behind. During the early centuries, it was a common belief that if a person went missing their disappearance was caused by a manticore. Like its cousin, the Sphinx, it would often challenge its prey with riddles before killing."

The Manticore is my fav mythical beast. I had drawn a concept of one years earlier, this one being completely different and with the addition of bat wings. Will put this in scraps once I draw a better pic of him.
I drew this guy late at night, and with the addition of listening to Dubstep for 24 hours straight, he developed a bit of personality. l3

Name: Martya (meaning Man in Persian)
Species: North American Manticore, or Spotted Manitcore
Martya has eaten a fair share of humans in his day, but prefers to mess with their minds rather then devour them. He enjoys scaring the sceptic out of them, or kidnapping them and placing them miles from where they were just to watch their shocked confusion. That being just fun and games, he also enjoys observing humans. His huge, eerie eyes reflect light easily in the dark, and he is usually spotted peeking in on humans and often times confused with the infamous Moth Man. If you started a conversation with him without running away screaming, he is surprisingly chatty.
Martya has the ability to shift the joints in his back legs to roam on four legs or stand upright like a human. Standing upright, his lanky, tall body gives him an even more sinister appearance.
He spends most of his time in the coniferous forests of North America and in abandoned barns and houses.
