Description
I made this "ringflash" for my stacked lenses setup (100mm macro+reversed 50mm, enlargement 3:1).It is hard to get some light in the face of an insect because the working distance is less than an inch.
So i made this modification for my small (slave) flash.
It's realy easy to work with, i used to use a large flash and that is hard in such tight places.
I have worked with this setup quite a lot and and i am very happy with it.
I made a plan so you can make it too

Have fun.

You have made some really stunning photos with this combination. And You inspired me to try to get beyond 1:1, I will order my coupling ring next week.
But after reading quite alot about this topic I think you can achive only 2:1 with a combination of 100mm and 50mm, to achieve 3:1 you would need 100mm in combination with a 35mm.
Or am I wrong and this calculation only works with non macro lenses?
I'm confused.

Ingenius! I used to have a medical ringflash,
but the results you are getting with your own set-up beat it on that close range!

Wow...impressive set-up.
I was just wondering what coupling ring you use to connect the two lenses to each other. I've been wanting to try this out for quite a while, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for (brand, exact name etc.).
I've got an EOS 350D, Sigma 105 mm macro and Canon 50 mm (filter threads 58 and 52 mm, I think). Would be grateful for any help!
