To get out of an art funk I was in, I drew some boys. Afterword I decided to slowly draw some Kirby abilities I like for future reference when I finish that Kirby comic that I promise I'm still working on. So here's the cutty boy with an inexplicably designed hat.Game: Kirby™ Series

The way you drew that blade, it just doesn't cut it for me.
But in all seriousness, the blade on the hat is inspired by knight helmets, specifically the Morion Helmet, a type that has a blade like spike at the top of the helm. The peeps who designed the Cutter Hat (and Sir Kibble by extension) used this helmet, cut it in half, and made it so that you can take it off and throw it like a boomerang with the powers of the ability.
As for why they made the rest of it a baseball cap with eyes and wings...
