There is the rumor that Pikachu from Brawl onward is actually the Pichu from Melee evolved because in the main Pokemon series games, a Pikachu can only learn Volt Tackle (it's final smash) during the Pichu stage by breeding a Female Pikachu holding the Light Ball item and to add to that both Pichu in Melee and Pikachu in SSB and Smash 4 have the same blue color (both wear goggles). Then again, it's just a rumor
