Ten thousand years ago, the Old Empire spanned a thousand suns. Why it shattered, nobody knows.

This is the journey of the Space Jaunter Whalesong. Our mission?
To forge links between these lost and lonely stars.
To keep the Empire’s weapons out of the wrong hands.
And to leave a wonderful impression of the Technarcracy of Planets in our wake.

For the past few months, I and the ex-with-benefits have been working on a pitch for a sci-fi cartoon. It's called "Parallax", and you can see a lot more of its development process by checking out its tag on my blog . The tl;dr of it is "funny-animal Star Trek, except every other episode is from the perspective of the Klingons". This is version 2 of the Technarcracy away team that we focus on.

Stuart: a very cautious rookie from an immensely dangerous planet. He's also a transman.

The Baron: a noble from a lost planet that's recently been brought into the Technarcracy. Romantic and super-polite.

Olivia: The leader of the away team. A total rake and a bit of a loose cannon, with enough charisma to get away with both of those. Mostly.

Vaxenchalowroth: A two-year-old mantis lady, with the genetic memories of a three-thousand-year-old lineage of warrior women. "Vax" to her friends.

Dillon: A perfectly ordinary axolotl with a perfectly ordinary name. He is absolutely not pretending to be anything he's not. Don't mind the glow; that's just because he sleeps in the drive chamber. Perfectly safe.
