Really like the blue of the sky in this and the contrast it makes with the soil. Great shot

This is so very beautiful, Ulrich! Such visual drama in those few trees with the whole sky above them.

Well, visual drama Does this refer to the poor waving tree on the right

RichardLeach In reply to EintoeRn [2010-04-05 20:50:17 +0000 UTC]
That tree is calling to the others, "Hey, wait for me, you guys!"
I say "visual drama" for bold gestures like isolated trees against the sky - dramatic contrast of single (or double) tree against the vastness

..love the pared to essence simplicity of this composition ...the tree on the right has a kind of figurative aspect to it - outstetched limbs gesticulating - ( " Hey ,look at me ! )

EintoeRn In reply to DouglasHumphries [2010-04-05 18:48:11 +0000 UTC]
Indeed - I also noticed that waving which adds a special moment to the clearness and crispness of light and colors. Thanks, btw. for your thoughtful comment

A camera with the resolution of yours definitely can benefit from a good lens. Look at those tree branches! Good glass is expensive, yes, but worth it, IMO.
I think I prefer the simple composition of part 1, which, I notice, was taken after part 2! Hrm.

Good glass is expensive, but you can never tell the difference before you gave it try - part of the problem. Otherwise I would be deep in debts
Thanks, Tom

Thank you dear . Maybe these two poor and forgotten trees shall appear later from another point of view
It took me along time to decide about the (really BIG) investment for the new lens, but the crispness and clarity of colours, really is different.

(they look like three trees, not two, and they're no longer forgotten...!)
I'm glad that you're glad with your new acquisition Which lens is that? you're certainly right about the quality of colours and crispness! this photo shows it

O-kay Two and a half trees
The lens is a 70-200mm f 2.8 Canon L-series with optical stabilizer and an ultrasonic focus It WAS a lot of money ...

m-lucia In reply to EintoeRn [2010-04-04 22:18:00 +0000 UTC]
an ultrasonic focus...?! I must say I never heard about it!
the optical stabilizer seems quite useful I often think I need one of those...!
and I'm sure you will not regret spending that money

Awwh - good. Maybe you can use my old one. I should be happy to send it to you. Just give me a couple of days or weeks to find out, whether I really do not need it any more. In the moment, I do not think so
π: 0 β©: 1
m-lucia In reply to EintoeRn [2010-04-05 14:51:06 +0000 UTC]
Now I know what an ultrasonic focus is!
and that's really generous and kind of you but I don't think I should accept it. Later on you might realize you could give it some use.
Thanks from the bottom of my anyway

EintoeRn In reply to m-lucia [2010-04-05 18:05:52 +0000 UTC]
No, no, no. If I decide within the next weeks that I am not going to use it anymore, I shall be very happy to give it you. We shall see and keep this in mind
