Description
Finally (so far) I've done my LEGO Back to the Future Delorean MOC And showing how it works.these Parts are 75% from the original LEGO Delorean set from 2013. And I also had other LEGO sets to used the parts I needed for this Project.
I started making this Delorean When I got Back from my Return home to Winnipeg and started Digging my old lego Delorean Set I had. I also Had a Secondary that has already been taken apart, And so far I only recovered the 2015 License plate (And It's not until later I recovered the "Missprinting" Flux Capacitor and the time circuit.)
I used DadNostalgia's Design as a Blueprint and Altered the build to make the car a bit more Accurate like the real Delorean in the films. I've also used a few other builds I can find online and also Used some of the original Lego Delorean's builds like the cooling vents and the gullwing doors but alter the doors.
I've Even tried other Building techniques like the Interior, Mr. Fusion, Hovercraft mood, and the Side Cables. if you seen my photos on my LEGO Delorean Promotions and can already see the differences like the front headlights and the sidelights is because I had to try other building styles and Even make more accurate builds to the real car, so far I liked how it turned out.
Some inaccurate things on the MOC is how the Hovercraft expands out to flight mood unlike the Movies and if you might of notice is the light grey gear piece for Mr. fusion, well that is because LEGO Didn't have many White gear Pieces at the time, the only time they had those is for the 2002 Technic R2-D2 build. Though It would be easier to buy one on Brinklink but I can't do it since I don't have a Credit/ Mastercard and I don't have Paypal. But one day I'll find a good white gear Piece for Mr Fusion and will be complete.
fun thing about the Project is you can Change the Time Travel Coils front and sides from the Shiny Silver to trans blue to represent the car hitting 88 Miles per hour ready to time travel. Unfortunately I Didn't show I since I didn't have the space and the time to shoot the image and I didn't have most of the right Pieces but the right color trans blue I'm looking for.
the build for the 1955/ 1885 Delorean is pretty fun because on how detailed the Control box is, and although I used Cardboard for the Red inner piece for the 1955 wheels and at least I had the 1x1 flat stud to make it a little helpful.
the 1885 Train Wheels where a challenge since the wheels can't fit with the train tracks, but at least I had a couple of smaller Train wheels to hid the bottom of the car, they can be noticeable at time but its a solution I had to come up with and at least it works for my Opinion (note: I had to photoshop the bottom piece of the smaller train wheels since I didn't have black 4x2 plates at on where I'm living, but I will get the parts I need when I get back to my Hometown.
Lastly. one of the Back Pieces can be replace with the Lightning rod from the first movie and so far it looks alright since the hook is made from a paperclip and used one of the bendable poles and a technic piece
that's all I have to say about the LEGO Delorean Time Machine MOC, but I will go more Details on youtube if I ever have a Chance later on on the 20th on September or better October since Back to the future was set in October 25-26 1985.
