Description
Raiden is one of the protagonists in Mortal Kombat Rebirth and the mentor of the series.

He is the Elder God of lightning, thunder, or storms who is considered to be a very powerful being to ever exist and the most important yet legendary figure in Japanese mythology and the Shinto religion. His own duty is to be the protector for Earthrealm and is the mentoring figure of Liu Kang who helps mortal humans like the young shaolin monk make better choices or find something motivating that is worth their purposes in life. As an Elder God, Raiden possess a lot of supernatural powers such as flight, teleportation, generating electricity, precognition, telepathy, perfoming the electric torpedo where he flys fast with a battle cry, and the ability to heal the wounds of others while performing some martial arts with a rod for physical combat just to control or balance himself. He also takes on the form of an elderly Japanese man with long white hair, a muscular body, and glowing white eyes which helps him be recognized easily.

Raiden is a wise, thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, understanding, and powerful Elder God who cares very deeply about the safety for Liu Kang during any fighting moment that occurs and would act as a father figure to give the young one some love or support whenever he goes through a hard time. However, the only flaws he has is that he can be stubborn at times whenever he doesn't get what he wants in a rather little ways, still having some limits for the use of his powers, and the fact that he might not be indestructible as the rest of the Elder Gods. At some point, he wanted to learn what it is like to be human even though he is a God while becoming a supporter for a group of heroes including his favorite Liu Kang.

Regardless of his flaws, Raiden will keep on continuing his duty so that he must consult with the Elder Gods in order for him and the rest of his human allies to stop against evil forces to prevent from invading Earthrealm while keeping an eye on Liu Kang for learning the lesson he had been given in pride.

Whenever Raiden is fighting against any enemy he encounters, he finishes his opponent by shooting out electric bolts to slice off their lower legs, then he uses his rod to shove it in their throats, and finally summons lightning from the sky to electrocute their bodies while letting their skeletons glow until they are completely fried to death.

The clothing he wears is a traditional japanese style white uniform that is slightly a karate gi, a blue japanese style tabard vest with black outlines around it, a black sash wrapped around his waist, some black bandages on his arms and legs, an asian style conical straw hat, two silver shoulder pads with gold outlines around them, a black undershirt with a gold neckline, and two golden straps wrapped around both of his upper cuffs with the kanji text translating his name which all makes him resemble as a rice farmer.
