Yes, I can sense his determination in his eyes. A very strong determination.
Allright, on to technicals. Well, I don't see anything that looks strange... your choice of strokes on the hair and feathers is more of a matter of preference and style so I'll refrain from commenting on that. Skin rendering is smooth and nice, and though the face is beautiful, I can still tell its a guy after I look at it for a while. Overall I think whatever you did in the past, as long as you keep improving its a good thing.
I am also interested in the story of these two. What is it actually about? Of course, if its still in secret you don't have to tell me yet.

well, its a series i've been writing for almost 5 years now, so you can understand why i'd be iffy about telling the story. if it ever gets published i'd probably tell, but that's a while away i'm sure.

I love both of the two versions. .:The Promise:. +REVISED+ is like winter, but this one's like winter almost over.. I love the warmness in the skin color.
But in the end I have a hard time deciding who's best.

I am not sure which one I like more. In this picture he has more depth, he is sadder and his eyes have more expression. So I guess this one is better. However, in the previous version he was more... lighter. More angelic. And so I can't decide.

This is really good, I like this colouring best, but I liked the expression in the first more - it might be something to do with the lips rather than the eyes.
But I really don't know.

Hmmn~ I like this one a lot and I like the hair from the one yesterday and I love the eyes from the one submitted in July. It's a hard choice. :3
I don't think the eye-sparkles should be so big, it takes away from the realism of the piece though

well, i added them because of those sparkles of light that are hovering around him. i thought it would be more realistic on that level at least.

This is really beautiful. I love the pale, muted color scheme and the sharp details. It feels like this person is standing right in front of the viewer; very intense and yet still very gentle and beautiful.
