Description
Bring a berserk! While sketching, this was supposed to be like at least six vikings being surrounded by.. more vikings. But now, it's two vikings with possible bandits in the night.
I borrowed the book Viking clothing by Thor Ewing, and three parts of clothing is inspired of finds in that book.
The blue shirt is based on a German find dating from around the viking age. The same mans shoes are based on a find from York, that had a bone attached underneath, viking age skates!
The topless mans' trousers are inspired by so called breeches from Germany. The etymology of the word breeches is derived from the Norse word brók, as in Ragnar Loðbróks' name. The find I was inspired was footed. The same man has three pearls in his necklace, by many archaeologist the number of pearls in a grave is used to define sex, more than three is considered to be women.
The weaponry is very stereotype. The spear, what I know at least, in medieval times the wings was for hunting wild boars. Those are tough to take down and the ''wings'' stops the hunter from pushing more than necessary.
