This will be the second time a Decepticon takes the matrix, the first one is Scourge and unlike Scourge, Cyclonus isn't mutated by the matrix

The episode will have Marissa Faireborn returning again after the 93rd episode of Transformers G1, Daniel Witwicky and his father Spike will also return to the episode before the three final episodes for Season 4, The Rebirth

Vector Prime (Primus's Guardian of Time and Space) will be guest voiced by Vincent Price, the late voice actor of Vincent Van Ghoul from 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo and as a one-time appearing Autobot of Season 3

There is a similar scene to one of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo episodes where Rodimus Prime and Cyclonus struggle with the Matrix during a fight, which shows Rodimus a "window" through the past to how he met Optimus Prime, his crew, and his Human allies including Daniel Witwicky, and then to more recent events of Season 3 (Before the Return of Optimus Prime).

This scene has the trauma that has made Rodimus decided to give up his leadership to Ultra Magnus by giving him the Matrix to become the substitute leader before reverting to Hot Rod and jets off once again like the previous episode

There was another fight scene that Ultra Magnus (who was carrying the Matrix of Leadership) leads the Autobots by fighting the Decepticons, but Magnus and Cyclonus struggle the Matrix like he did with Rodimus earlier

Description Cut scene: Marissa Faireborn: Oh no...if Hot Rod were here, he would've been worried sick if Cyclonus has taken the Matrix of Leadership! (Transition to Hot Rod fishing alone, thinking about the recent events, he doesn't seemed to be too upset)

The scene shows Vector Prime, observing this disastrous turn through the his crystal ball (since when does Vector Prime own one?), takes a more subtle approach to bring Hot Rod back into the fold.

Like It's a Wonderful Scoob episode, Vector Prime visits Hot Rod and shows him, by use of his Time Staff (similar to Slime Time's Time Scepter), the future if things continue the way they are. The world has fallen into a dystopia and was ruled by Decepticons, Cyclonus somewhat overthrows Galvatron and becomes the leader of the Decepticons thanks to the Matrix of Leadership he's stolen, Ultra Magnus is dead, his old Autobot crew has turned to Decepticon side, even his Human friends including Daniel Witwicky have become slaves, desperately willing for Rodimus Prime to come back.

Like Scooby Doo in which Vincent Van Ghoul gave him a refold to come back to the gang, Vector Prime gives Hot Rod new resolve, he goes back to his timeline and swoops in to defend his Autobot team, taking the Matrix of Leadership from Cyclonus thus saving Ultra Magnus and he once again becomes Rodimus Prime.

The soundtrack Escape from the Transformers Movie will be appearing when Hot Rod came back to save his friends

The heartwarming ending has Rodimus Prime apologizing to his teammates for leaving them behind after defeating the Decepticons once again, they all forgiven him as they welcome back Rodimus Prime to the team, they all give him a group hug. (Awww....)
