Description This looks like it's been chiseled out of stone. Curiously the colour map produces a yellow light of the right hand side of the tree where it joins onto an inverted version itself (although slightly distorted).

Created using mars and expanded using phobos (see my deviantID).

Parameters:

Formula: Unnamed

z <- ((z^alpha + c)^beta)/(z(z^alpha - c)^gamma)

alpha = 1.6
beta = 0.05
gamma = 0.15
c is the position in the complex plane and is used to initialise z

Image centre: -0.972936 + 0i
Long side: 0.0413

Outer colouring: Gaussian Integer (floor), average angle
Inner colouring: irrelevant as the entire image is outer.

That's interesting. I suspect it's because the spiral that gets the colour recedes into the distance at that point. It's a nice effect.
