Portfoilio 2010-showed to Disney when they arrived here for their Tangled-behind the scenes promo and the International Animation Festival in Ottawa.Alright so more Sphinx!
At top is her coloured Rotation- she's so big it was so hardly a rotation. Animating three characters ( lion, eagle wings and woman) all into one was not easy. I'm happy I was proud of what I had accomplished.
Her facial design was really fun- you can see how much Soul Eater's Medusa inspired me.
Middle image: Conceptional design when the Sphinx see's the Soldier cheating the Greek magic Eight ball. He tries to use it to complete the Sphinx's riddle only to have the magical device say... " RUN."
Only to turn to have the Sphinx attack him. The scene goes black and all you hear is a feral animal mauling the poor guy to pieces
In the begining of the movie, there is a Monty Python-like narration explaining the story of the sphinx and how one man was able to defeat her.
But once the ending comes, screen goes black and Soldier is ripped to pieces, the narration then concludes...
"This story however, is NOT about that man."
