You didn't grow up wearing my skin.
The challenges without are only mirrors of the challenges within.
You hear tell of my story and call it a lie

You don't know the truth, how could you?
Were you there the day I was born?
Was it you who bore the weight of the other students scorn?

Did you receive my awards showing where I did well?
Did you bring home my report cards, telling where I failed?
Were you there to lend me a helping hand when others would not?

Did you see me struggle to overcome that which I could not?
Every step becomes a burden, with even greater ones to come.
The obstacles are endless did you have to become another one?
Do you care about the scars given to me by my youth?

You dare compare me to you then insult me if I don't measure up?
Just who do you think you are?
And who gave you this so called right?
