What I love most about this photo is the look in her eyes. It is so full of hurt and it makes me sad. You just wish these were true wings so that she could fly away from whatever makes her hurt.
This is what photography should be about. Touch the viewer and make him feel something and think about the piece of art. Love this.

This reminds me of a dream I had as a child, where I was a fairy but someone ripped my wings off. It was the saddest dream I've ever had, by far. This isn't quite that sad, but it still reminds me of it.
