Suggestions: The horse is smudged a lot, and you can't really see the muscle toning. I would either lower the rate of the smudging, or duplicate the layer, then smudge the top later, then lower the opacity of the top layer to about 55-75%. Also, the mane and tail do not flow, and don't look like a real tail, and looks like it was just a line drawn onto there. I would make strands of hair, and use the 'fade out' option, and make the mane, tail, and forelock flow, having strands of hair in different places, and stick out from the rest of the base of the mane and tail. Personally, I think it would be better if you included highlights, but GIMP is hard to make highlights look good unless if you are super experienced with it, or have a tablet. Also, the horse doesn't really fit in with the background. You should go to: Colors > Hue/Saturation, Color Bance, Or whatever else is there, then make it more of a purpleish tint to the horse to make it actually look like it belongs in the background. For the hooves, you could download grass brushes and make it look like there is grass over the horse's hooves rather than just cut off abruptly, OR you could end up getting the eraser tool, and lowering the opacity to around 50-80 percent, then erase where the grass would be, making it look like the grass is over the horse's hooves. Towards the bottom of the hooves, go over again so that it is more erased than the top of the hooves. Also, if you don't already, you should save the image as a .png file to save the quality of the layout. c: Hope this helped! Not trying to be mean about it, in case if it came out wrong. Just giving suggestions. Great job on the piece!
