Description The second heavy weapon fielded by the House Guard's troopers directly, the Thilim-Pattern Multilaser is used to project sustained barrages of lasfire as part of a base of fire or defensive emplacement. Six standard-diameter lasweapon barrels rotate between firing and cooling positions to provide a greatly increased rate of fire over a single lasgun. The six barrels are held in a hexagonal configuration, captive inside low-friction bearing clamps that ensure barrel warping is kept to a minimum during prolonged bursts of fire.

The huge amounts of energy required to generate the volley of beams render high-power laspacks or integrated reactors unfeasible, and make an external power supply neccessary. The House Guard manual of arms specifies that two troopers should attend to the weapon - one to carry and fire the gun itself, and a second to carry and prepare auxiliary equipment such the portable generator and quick-deploy tripod.

The Multilaser is designed to be mounted on and fired from a fixed emplacement such as a field tripod, a wheeled gun carriage, or a vehicle's weapon bracket. Attempting to carry and fire the weapon without setting it down beforehand will likely cause shots to miss as the operator struggles to even point the unwieldy gun in the right direction. When deployed in the intended fashion, the operator can sight down an optional optic such as a telescopic or preysense sight. Without an optic attached, shots must often be walked onto the target.
