I love the Order of Whispers.

I've had a soft spot for ninja secret agent type characters since I was around 12 or 13 years old and tried to write that novel about a hidden clan of ninjas existing in modern America. I never finished the novel (it was terrible anyway) but all the research I did on the ancient shinobi and their arts has stuck with me even today.

As of now, that 12 or 13 year old geeking about ninjas is still up to her old tricks, only now she's playing Guild Wars 2 and has a thief character, a master of the theories behind not being noticed, and of course, he's in the Order of Whispers. With this painting, I wanted to capture that stoic determination, the intensity of light battling with dark, and the harsh contrast found within the Order's creed. They lie, spy, and kill. But they're also saving everyone.

The fellow in the painting is my thief, but he represents all Whispers Agents. All of them are insanely cool.
