Nighthawks ? It has become difficult indeed not to reference Hopper when faced with pictures of shared urban solitudes in the unforgiving light of a nighttime eatery -- but if your photograph captures all of this, it also adds something all its own, an enhanced atmosphere of danger and seediness, perhaps, suggested by the garish colours of the restaurant or the platinum blonde and her sleazy-looking acolytes. A powerful and evocative image, which worms its way into the mind.
