Wanted to see how the characters will look like in manga format, i learned a couple of things while doing this, i think its not that bad to do realistic enviroments got some ideas to improve that with brushes.As you can see in manga you have short time to work the pages, but i will like to make them this way, kind of sketchy but with a painterly look.
So what do you think?, do you like this style for a manga in Tokyo pop, instead traditional lines and tones.

very very nice, the foreground walls though could be a little more sharply defined, they almost look on the same plane than the background building, you could try the unsharpen filter on them (photoshop), but kudos for the great piece it looks beautiful.

Definitivamente serΓa algo diferente y muy atractivo ver un manga toneado de este modo.
El ΓΊnico comentario que harΓa con respecto a tu pregunta es que primero debes ver si TokyoPop puede lograr la impresiΓ³n con calidad, para no batir ni oscurecer tu toneado. Es muy posible que a la hora de imprimir se pierdan detalles, pero todo eso se puede evitar platicando con el editor y asegurando que el archivo para impresiΓ³n quede tal cual lo tienes planeado.

Its kind of cool that for someone who is so dilligent on different art practices to work on a comicbook named "Drawskill".
Anyway. Its neat but remember that black and white isn't color. Oh, I think you've figured it out by now going from your later samples.

i think that style would definitely look good, very different and unique. it might be too heavy to carry on through an entire manga i think your simpler line art would be better for that, but regardless, this is still an amazing piece

I like it. it just looks like an awful lot of work for a comic's schedule. If you can still make deadlines with this style then go for it!

I like the appeal of this style, but I need to see it not as a pin up, but in a page to see how it actually works and flows.
It is true that this style will take more time, with your other projects still going, it's probably better to think up a way to work at it faster as others have suggested.

This DEFINITELY gives more than the linework approach; love the shading, and the background's not bad at all! HOWEVER:
1) I'd probably need to see more pages like this to really decide, and
2) It all comes down to how fast you can churn something like this out.

It's very good! How do you create the background? The shade is much better like that than using tone. I don't know if it will be great like this if printed though

I love this piece, the extremely realistic background brings life to the character rather than having thrust upon a blank canvas like most of my art. It's kinda hazzy too, as if there were actually smog. Absolutly delicous, keep up the good work.

Yeah I like it cuz it's different. I don't know thought honestly I tend to like less detailed manga b/c it's less going on but I don't think I would mind this style.
