He and Lianna Wispein worked together for many years at Merlot Industries, and eventually became lovers on the side. Due to their research under strict rules and observation, they couldn't technically be together or even marry; for fear of losing focus and jeopardizing their work. So when Lianna became pregnant, they knew they couldn't keep the child. With help from his friend, Cruor Haema, Lianna was prematurely induced and Tia was born after only five months in the womb. Lianna was told she had miscarried, and her relationship with Alexandr became strained. He didn't do this to her because he didn't love her, it was because he loves his work just as much, and couldn't stand to lose both because of a child.
About four years later however, an accident occurred at the facility, causing Grimm to invade Mountain Glenn and many researchers died. Having been severely scared, Alex went into seclusion after the fall of Merlot Industries. He is unsure of what to do or where to go, but knows that Cruor will help him with whatever he needs.
The fate of his lover, Lianna, however, is currently unknown.
