"Need another? Well, of course I've already got you covered, handsome."

I wanted a character for a story I'm toying with in a solo RPG format. Dryads are classic, but good stories reach beyond the tropes. I think Riendre's a hearthmaiden: halfway between a genius loci or a nymph and a Roman panes, a kind-of-human girl born to embody hospitality, rest, satiety, sleep, love, marriage, childbirth, gatherings of friends, and all the things we associate with healthy homes.

Or, in this case, a healthy tavern. What did you expect? Hearthmaidens make great barmaids when they're still young and unattached to a home (i.e. husband,) and with their specific but appreciable magical affinities, they can double as bouncers, too. Who needs a boring, overdone fireball spell when you can make your watering house literally unwelcoming toward any unruly patrons? Randomly spoiled beer, chair legs that break under strain, a fireplace that just happens to constantly belch smoke right into Mr. Handsy-When-Drunk's face...that stuff is a lot cheaper to replace than the tavern that the bouncer-mage burned down because he thought D&D was a good place to go for inspiration for his magic studies.

I mean, honestly. Fireballs?

Be sure to zoom in and look at the details. I spent way more time today than I should have putting this together: playing with embroidery shaders, wrestling with dForce hair that didn't want to fall properly, having fun with freckles and moles and subcutaneous veins. I'm going to use them more in the future. A more realistic look for lovely ladies is always welcome.
