Please refrain yourself. I came into this from a suggestion link, published by DA, saw the pic and left you a note on my love for the Star Trek original series, and how I felt your pic was a worthy (Rule 63, apropos of nothing) homage. That quote is still above, and all may read and see for themselves how totally anodyne it is. And that was all. Sure, it would be nice if you thanked me, but I know a lot of DA artists simply don't have the time so I never fret it. (Sadly, I am aware that some commenters are not so understanding, but thankfully, that is not my sin.)
Instead you told me, who left no expectations open but (perhaps) a simple thanks from you, that she was your girlfriend. I was surprised, yes... well, she was in the picture, so certainly she was on your mind... certainly understandable, why not? Well, in the flush of love, who can say they never boasted?
So, I took your oversharing (which it was) in stride. You had added in your post "oh guuurrrll, dem legs go on 5ever
Now. Having said all that, I have one thing to say. Where do you get off telling me "she's my girlfriend, not just some babe I scored for the night"? I've taken home a few one night stands, male and female, and where the hell do you get off suggesting that they don't deserve respect???

I am endlessly amused by the fact that you just read into my single sentence to that extent. The legs thing was a joke between me and her, I rarely make actual sexual comments about her in public or on public websites, that's a private thing between us. I apologize for overreacting, but we get frequently objectified in our local cosplay community, so we get extremely defensive over our relationship.
My apologies for overreacting, I truly didn't want this big of an issue, but do understand that she and I are on the defensive because of some unfortunate things in the past.
I agree, it was a cheap loaded comment, and I should've reworded it. They absolutely do deserve respect, and I'll reword my phrasing in the future.
However, please don't read so deeply into my single sentence.

Yeah, as control freak aliens intoxicated by human consciousness go, it is kinda weak, like Plato's Stepchildren, but the Kirk/Spock/McCoy banter is pretty amusing.

Yeah, first and probably best, cause they deceive from within to control, but according to Veena, they have trapped and deceived themselves with their vicarious pursuits of the dreams of others.
Funny, years ago someone told me that The Cage never would have worked with happy-go-lucky Kirk.
His point was it needed the mind of the brooding, self-doubting Pike as the mental landscape for the struggle.
Not sure I agreed, but I found it . . . interesting.

That's true, but they're still a favourite of mine.
And I don't quite agree, Kirk has his brooding self doubting moments, it would've been interesting if they'd used him.
I'm still happy they used Pike, since I loved the Menagerie which wouldn't have existed as an episode without use of "The Cage."
