Yeah I saw Kick-Ass and totally had to draw the amazing pint-sized superheroine Hit Girl. She was just so fuckin awsome! Well the whole movie was really. I already did a whole long review of it over mnya [link] so I'm not writing it all out again. Obviously this is a much older version of her, years later still using her extreme martial artistry and vigilantism to reap vengeance for the loss of her father.

I wanted her to be older so I could try my hand at a comic book style drawing. I also tried colouring it in a specific superhero way with some help from a tutorial video, but apart from more heavily inking it, I just basically coloured and shaded it how I usually do. I thought it turned out pretty well. All the detail on her took a long fuckin time so I half-assed the background again lol. I just wanted to do the linework for the roof of the building she's supposed to be standing on, looking out over the city.

Here's the tutorial video if anyone's interested [link] It's useful if you don't know how to use the burn and dodge tools because that's basically what he uses for the shading and highlights, but I already knew how to use those so I did most of this on my own. The video's interesting regardless, I never use the lasso tool or the channels so that was something new I kinda learned and tried out.

Dammit I want a Japanese bow staff so bad!! ....and I just realized her boot straps are going in the same direction Shit. Nice job dumbass.
