I'm getting better at getting macromedia fireworks to do
what i want it to do, but there's still a ways to go. The basic design was done in fireworks, but after so many tries to get the paintbucket tool to fill in the design i gave up in frustration and exported to flash; filling in color by hand is tedious. Even then, flash wouldn't be very obliging so i had to convert the vector art into a f**kin' bitmap which is
why the lines have a quality to them that is similar to what one sees in prints made from woodcuts.

I suspect that if i want vector paths to make spaces that Fireworks recognizes as an area that can be filled in with paintbucket that i'm going to have to go about generating the vector paths in a very different way. How, exactly, is a good question.
