May I ask if you blocked the paper first? I've done a number of watercolors and found virtually no difference between blocking and not blocking.

I love those high quality, high grain papers!
They always make for some interesting texture work.
I try to get something between 150 and 200 gsm with a press weight at least 80 pounds or better.
That kind of paper resists bleed-through amd erases better in my opinion.
By the way, this is pretty illustartion!
