Description
Oh man, this room. I don't know what possessed me to even go for it. I'm not good with piles of things! Especially not gold!Though if you were wondering why things weren't awarded more quickly, well... this room is part of the reason why, heh.
Something I didn't mention on the other rooms I did was how much I abused Mirror. It's pretty obvious here, but it did save a lot of time (and for architecture like this, at least makes sense.) Still, i didn't mirror any of the shading and tried to keep that as unique as possible.
The staircase under the Bhakoru is supposed to look like gold paint has flecked off due to age. I don't think I quite got that effect, but I still like the way it looks (even if it looks more like a gold vein.) The Bhakoru themselves seem a little too smooth rather than weathered, but again I do like how it looks.
The crystal in the center was originally going to be just kind of golden, but the colors were looking hideous, so I just threw every color in there until it looked pretty.
I'm still not happy with the treasure horde in the background. I almost uploaded it without it. At this point in the picture, the image file was so huge that it took forever to zoom in to full size, so I did the treasure stuff at half the size. It's not a bad effect when it's smaller, but blown up like this you can really tell it doesn't have the same amount of detail.
I mean, it's good to know that I can use this technique for like, a background (I know a certain trunk that could use it!) but I'm still disappointed with how it looks here.
