Description
Driving around townMusic up and eyes down
Burning all the oxygen
In America
We
scream
for silence
and fight for peace
Forget the starlight
They burn out anyway
The glow from your cigarette
Is enough to see by
tonight

I really like this poem, it really brings to my mind the monotany of American life, and how much we don't care about where we're going or what we're doing. Cigarettes and the repeating of burning makes me feel like were slowly sucking down American life by becoming more selfish and less caring about the world.
Great poem.
I just wrote my first sociopolitical poem yesterday and it was my first piece of art posted on this site. I'd like to know what you think since I believe the moods of my poem and yours are very similar.
