In war, it is easy to lionise our respective heroes and demonise those that oppose them but what about the every day men, women, and children that have nothing to do with the conflict, those for whose freedom your heroes are supposedly fighting?

The workers at arms and munitions factories, the food processing facilities, the shop keepers, the security and common soldiers; they are rarely as evil as their masters. They are just living their lives and surviving in the chaos that conflict brings, often the conflict brings many of those lives to an abrupt end.

In the abandoned underground transit underneath the capital city of Bryttan, and cities across what is now The Union, thousands of young people and children are left to scratch a living however they can while evading capture from Keeper patrols. They are truly The Forgotten; the Panastas do not know how many there are or where, the remnents of the Empyraen military cannot keep track of them, and the Fevlas seek to exploit them when they find them, channelling their anger into a suitably dramatic act of zealous suicide...

Arywddy (pronounced A-Ruthie) is one such person, desperately seeking meaning down in the dark tunnels underneath Lùndùn after a stray bullet from a street skirmish ended the life of the adult that remained to her and her twin sisters. I'm proud of her expression; one of shell-shocked loss and resignation combined with an angry determination. Her blank stare, her set jaw and hard mouth over eyes clouded with unimaginable pain. Her story is coming soon.
