Description
Okay so I made this thing. You know, just a couple of classy Pokémon having tea and cake together. I can’t believe I actually did it. O.o
Was part-inspired by the Kalos cafés scattered around the Kalos region, also part-inspired by listening to Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Suite for 2 Guitars, and finally part-inspired by having tea and cake one weekend morning for breakfast.

What a most tranquil picture! The details in the background really add to the atmosphere. Love it!
Strangely, the title of the picture gave me one of the biggest laughs I've had for weeks since it reminded me of Eddy Izzard's "Tea and cake or death" joke xD

I like this setting. Some simple, well-defined elegance is what suits those two Pokemon the most.

The elegance took some time to really develop into something I could be satisfied with. I had originally conceived of this idea around two months ago, but it had taken nearly a dozen attempts to come up with a sketch that I could work with to scan onto SAI Paint. I suppose I could say I was struggling to find an artistic style that both I and viewers could be pleased with. Reading your comment made me feel grateful.
In addition to the comment above this may be the first image of an attempted series of images in which I make Gallade and Gardevoir do all sorts of hopefully-elegant settings such as reading by the fireplace, studying at the library, even ballroom dancing if my digital artistic skills are up for that challenge. These ideas were conceived around the same time as the idea for this image as well but I have yet to come up with anything even remotely of decent satisfactory.

Pushing yourself forward gave outstanding results, of that I am sure.
I'll be having one heck of a misadventure trying to work out any sufficient style for my Pokemon-related drawings. Those latest results were... too overcrowded and lifeless - an overally bad move when trying to draw designs so clean, simple and balanced.

Really? I rather admire your style in general. After stalking hanging around your gallery for a couple of times I can't help but think how beautifully awe-inspiring your work is. I see nothing different when it comes to your Pokemon-related fanart, and for me, I can't even consider it as "too overcrowded and lifeless," as you have said.
