The theme for this challenge was pretty interesting. We had to come up with an Element of Disharmony that Sunset Shimmer would represent. I picked Domination because it matched the way Sunset acted and how she used her magic. She thought power was about having everyone fear you and do whatever you wanted. When she got magic, she took that to the next level and controlled everyone's minds.Related content

This inspired something in my Equestria Girls fanseries, The Shimmering Hero of Canterlot High. Demon Sunset Shimmer is actually a seperate being from a demon world. (Long story short, she was the demon who possessed Sunset in an attempt to impress the ruler of the kingdom where she came from. She's the antagonist for the first half of series 1, but later turns good starting at the beginning of season 2.) When she was younger, she wore a pendant similar to the pendant she is wearing here around her neck to help her use magic properly. However, a demon named Jinx (who is a demonized version of Trixie) destroyed Sunset's pendant because she wanted Sunset Demon to be weaker than her. This devastated her, but it also taught her that she was able to do anything, even without the pendant!
