A post to let you know that I am NOT dead, and also for creature week. I'm gonna try a bit of a different writing style for this one so bear with me.

Claws: The Arragast has flat, shovel-like claws used to dig through the sand in the morning.

Sail: can be flushed with blood to vent excess heat, or to intimidate foes, and has the unintended side effect of deterring aerial attacks . The sketch shown one currently doing this. Unfortunately for it, this makes it an easy target for large predators (such as the Emperor Scarab) when it is buried.

Tail club: A natural weapon that is used to defend against threats from behind. However this can also be a weakness, as it is nearly defenseless when attacked from the front or surrounded.

Nostrils: The nostrils on the top of it's head let it breathe when it is submerged in the ground.

Teeth: Grooved teeth help it eat plants, bearing resemblance to molars.

Eyes: The eyes are large, and like most nocturnal creatures, have a tapetum (or at least something similar), making their eyes shine in the dark.

Lifestyle: It lives a solitary life, roaming around the dunes looking for plants to munch on. At daybreak, it digs into the ground, burying itself until nightfall.

General facts: It has an average lifespan of 8-13 years. It is about 70 kg, 122-188 cm long, and 51-55 cm tall. it is as intelligent as an iguana.

researcher's note: The tapetum is only known to exist on earth. Evolution is interesting isn't it; similar solutions to similar problems.
