I loved doing the water effects for this picture. Semi-inspired by the torturous hot weather I've been enduring for the past month or so. It was reported in the papers that the temperature hit a high of 34 degrees Celcius on some days, so yeah, this was a form of escapism...You've got to love Floatzel though. I don't take to Water-types much, but he's a hideously fast attacker in the games. That, and he's got such a mischievous look about him

It's actually mainly Hajime Kusajima's style, a TCG artist whom I really look up to. But you're right, I did incorporate elements of Masakazu Fukuda's work in shading this pic. You're sharp

I love the cel-shading used on this, and the used transparency of the water splash, it's a really interesting style. Another thing I liked was the saturarion of the colors and the powerful contrast between the Yellow and Blue colors and hues used on this artwork
Also the pose and situation it's so dynamic. I'm eager to see how will be the card that will have this illustration on it ^^
