EDIT & EXPLANATIONS:
Okay! Following morning, feeling better. Let's get to the nitty gritty.
Part Two: The second half of this comic has a good deal more 'unfinished' panels and less polished dialogue because by the time I got to it, certain things in my life had already taken a turn. I had to get a plane ticket to New Jersey, fly in and out and such, in an attempt to scramble things back together again. In the future I hope to make more cohesive entries plotted out in their fullest in the beginning to avoid this kind of issue.
Big Blast: Lilith is not a magely blaster type but she is equipped with the same amount of spells any necromancer worth her weight in skulls, which is why she is able to hold her own with Dembe but achieve nothing more than a stalemate. (Had Qian been in full control of her abilities Lilith wouldn't have stood a chance.) So, in the end, that was not Lilith summoning up all her own otherworldly power in a big 'ol missile attack, it was her allowing Dembe to deplete his entire supply of power, absorb it, and pile that on top of her own to deliver a blast that could not be stopped. You will likely not see such an attack from her in the future, but it worked for the current magely match-up.
Pacing: I'm wondering if long vertical comics mean you have to change up how you normally create sequential work, considering it seems to change the pacing. Had all of this been in one long string I don't know if it would read better or worse, but it certainly seems to effect how people see the ' parts ' instead of the whole.
True Ending: The actual ending for this had to be clipped as I could not finish in time. I was meant to use this weekend to do it but forgot I'd scheduled a road trip with some friends a while ago, so that eliminated any chance of finishing proper. It explained what happened to the rest of Qian and Dembe's team, regarding their run-in with Clockwork Bunny, as well as the fate of Qian and Dembe. (Which, despite the bleak ending above, isn't nearly as bad as it would have you believe.. haha.)
Explanations?: In the future I hope to make comics that don't require such explanations to understand. Ahah..
--Old entry--
I'm beat.
It was rushed, it was clipped, it was smashed down to work, despite all the extensions my life for the past few weeks has been a constant grinding asshat. Severe crunch time at work thanks to a game deadline we need to meet a month earlier than expected, severe personal issues with losing people rather close to me. Just. Just about everything, ahahah. It's been wild. But I had to get through this. Promised myself I would.
I'll put up more info sometime tomorrow when I have a nights sleep in me. Until then, hope you enjoyed this. And I apologize for running out of time to be able to do the rest of it that was intended to be the true ending. (About three more pages explaining what happens afterwards. Unfortunately life has a way of telling you when you have to settle for less, durnit.)

These comics you're doing about this big battle is becoming one of the major highlights of my visits to DA. Major grats on that. I'm pretty much hooked at this point.

Very nice. Y'know whenever I see these sorts of things on dA it always appears as though the contestants beat their competitors in their comics without even trying. Every comic of yours that I've read (the contest ones, that is), is balanced, fair, and basically realistic for the continuity. I applaud you on that.

It's just plain brilliant. I love your script, the dramatic pauses you manage to send out with the help of black space in between the panels, the effective coloring..
You've outdone yourself with this one, I am amazed.

I'm sorry to hear about all your stressy life stuff, I hope it eases up soon. Still, if you were able to complete an absolutely stunning and rather hilarious comic under all that pressure, then what you'd create if you had more time would be simply mind boggling. Good luck in the tournament Endling, I'm rooting for ya!

If I hadn't read the prologue, I would've thought that she was going to deflect it; I thought she was going to do something "out of the box", but I did NOT see that attack coming. Your work suprises me as usual~ :3

that was awesome-tastic!
the whole thing was cool and riveting, but I have to bring up the "split" panel, where the two chickies are talking to each other. that was unusual and well done.

Well, what to say. It is nice I guess.
It has some ideas here and there. Also, artwork is stunning as usual!
Yet, I find this page of less excitement. I liked the dialog main idea, but it wasn't presented in a very catching way. Well, I feel kinda happy yet disappointed at that second page.
Besides, how was that +15 skullcap able to absorb an ultimate attack! That's insane! 8D
I don't want to go to details. I already feel like a bad guy saying all that! ;_;
Oh well, you've gone through some real life issues. So, maybe that page got affected by that.
Compared to that, I loved every single line in the first page! Full of ideas, story, humor, artwork, EVERYTHING! I mean, my jaw was open all the time laughing and surprised! Man! That made my week!
Oh well, hope you find that as a constructive comment. I tried to find someone on the comments mentioning that so I wouldn't say it, but I saw encouraging ones only. You deserve that, though. Great job indeed
And here is what I wanted to write at the beginning:
Great job! I want one more page!! lol

Huh, matter of opinion I guess. Most folks have been saying the end half + finisher was the highlight of the whole thing, so evidently it delivered for quite a few people instead of letting them down. :3 To each their own. Glad you enjoyed it.

Don't be so down on yourself. This was perfect! We don't need to see what happens next. Sometimes story tellers give you too much. This was neat and concise and told the second half beautifully. And it was in color to boot! Great job!

Wow, man. Your work never ceases to amaze me. Have you ever thought about making a tutorial for you work? (Sorry if I asked this before...I can't really recall if I have or not.) I'd really love to see how you go about making your art.
The thing about your style is that it's simple, but strangely detailed. It's an odd pairing and I have no real idea how you pull it off, but I really love it.
