I'm unsure what the large aft dorsal space is on the primary hull. I thought it was a shuttle bay originally, though the scale would make it massive, and there looks to be more traditional shuttle bay doors ventral aft.

That said, the lower shuttle bay looking inclusion isn't really visible in the Discovery episode that featured a Nimitz class ship.
