Description
As the sun sets on a warm July night, C&O 2760 prepares to leave with a large Fast Freight headed for the eastern seaboard. Along the way, she will pass through tunnels, over bridges, making great time, as the Chessie is known for. The signal turns green, the engineer signals to the fireman to feed the fire, the whistle is pulled, and there off!Slowly the steam engine begins her journey, one wheel turn at a time. The rods slowly move in and out of the cylinders, propelling the engine forward. Suddenly, the hooves of the iron horse loose grip and they spin out of control. The experienced engineer knows exactly what to do: All in the same instant, he closes the throttle, applies sand and reopens the throttle. The wheels grip the rails, loose their footing, and then catch it again, this time keeping the grip.
The mighty 2760 speeds away, the cars pass by, and a friendly wave from the caboose ends this train's stay in Hinton.

That's awesome! A Kanawha on a classic Chessie route... Beautiful.
