About a month ago I saw Jane Goodall talk at a local college. She said something that stuck with me:
"When you look into the eyes of any intelligent animal in need, whether it be monkey, man, or dog, the eyes all look the same. They are all the eyes of a human".

This is a picture from when I lived in Mexico over the past summer. I just recently dug this photo up, and I'll admit that the photo startled me. The dog's name is pirate (pronounced pee-raw-tey, because it is in spanish), and he was one of four pet dogs that my mexican host family owned.
