In my RJ story, Rihanna was always Sheldon's backbone when they were kids. By the time the two are in late high school and adults Sheldon has finally grown his own backbone and able to protect Rihanna when she's in trouble!
The backgrounds regarding the sky color I pretty much wanted to do some kinda... Blue skies turned gray sorta thing? The blue skies represent more innocence as they're children and all and the gray when they're older signifies they both have lost their innocence and their relationship had been a bit off when Rihanna briefly dated a guy that abused her. Sheldon wants to make the sky blue again for her.
