nice corset, definitly a personal favortie article of clothing. Though, she looks like she's just itching out of it.. Kind of symbolic; like she doesn't want to be in a certain situation.. or group... rather somethign or someone is trying her down and wants to be free?

This a great peice, the hand clawing at the back is great. I also like how you make it more imperssonal by not showing the head or the rest of the body. Its great, I'm just sorry that its attracting the people who only think the picture is about the corset and how its a fun fashion accessory.

I love the concept of this piece. And the lighting was fantastic. Her reaching for the strings really shows her want to escape what's holding her back. I liked this very much. It's going in my favs.

i just want to know if im the only person who noticed that this piece very closely resembles those done by lithiumpicnic??? it may be a well done photo, but the concept is completely unoriginal (yes, i know that there are slight differences, but its essentially the same pic) and its dissapointing to see how no one even cares about that....
i cant speak for him, but i would feel used if i were lithium..

Completely agree. I read through 3-4 pages of accolades to see if anyone else saw this...looks very similar if you ask me...hell, it's on his main webpage.

i know... whats especially annoying is people praising the concept... i mean honestly folks, you praise a new and unique concept, one someone has used already... especially 2 days ago which was also a DTF...
i was told that the difference between the pics was the feeling that they were intended to evoke (or something to that effect)... i can kind of see that, but its still nearly the same photograph... esp since they're both sepia toned... oi

I'd never seen any work by either of these photographers before, so I went to go check out Lithiumpicnic's photos when I read this comment.
Looking at the two photos, I'd just like to say that while the content of the photo is essentially the same, the composition and intended effect of the two are entirely different--and that, really, is what I believe makes this photo a completely different beast altogether.

what a wonderful and thoughtful take on this subject - well executed and a deep exploration of it. I am a huge corset fan, but am very aware of the undertow that comes with them- constraint/restraint both in the physical and psycological sense and the terror/pleasure that can come from it

I say, fight against all restraints, even the ones we set upon ourselves. No limitations. For an artist especially. I have a body type a lot like you (I assumed this was you from some of the above comments) and I can tell you I hate my body most of the time. But people tell me I'm beautiful...I just don't see it though. But deep down we're all so beautiful. If you're a person that can have the patience, the creativity, the gall to take a photo as personal as this, you are beyond beautiful. I look at this shot and I see not only a well done photo, but the subject herself has this attraction about her that draws the viewer in. I love this shot, it says so much about this society, about our past society, about the subject in the shot, and probably about the photographer that took it. That's great art.

critique? ... I think the cropping is a little severe on the bottom of image ... also in that the figure isn't quite central... more equal arm for both might be nicer, or tighter trim to match arm length if that makes sense... I do like the lighting, though I'd be tempted to clone around bottom right section so that it is all lighter up to edge of corner, that way one side dark, t'other light...
of course, if you did all that you'd prob lose the uncomfortableness of it all, which I assume is part of the meaning of it all
