man, do you know this is not cience fiction... It already happens with "mmorpg" (massive multiplayer online real player game)...
Your job is good not only because your paiting quality but your vision of the virtual reality...
This virtual reality, recreates the paradise in a lot of ways, making some "players" choose the virtual reality instead of normal reality...
This could be one of the best human virtual dream representation...

i dont know if someone has already mentioned this, but this really reminds me of the short film 'More'. I dont know if that was an inspiration or not.

I don't believe it, I've been looking everywhere for that film. I couldn't remember the title or artist. It wasn't an inspiration specifically when I drew this, but I'm sure it was at the back of my mind.

this reminds me of the 'better than life' game in Red Dwarf, a game so addictive that the players waste away in the real world, while living in their own perfect fantasy.

I think that really is quite something. I'd seriously consider buying a print of this. It's well executed, the sci-fi theme is a fascinating and recurring one, and on top of that it has this echo of the kind of "little boy lost" theme that turns up even in so many really unbearable cute street urchin kinds of pictures.
Just one note - the wires on the left on the floor lose perspective, to my eye, on my monitor. Might be just me though.

Sweet! Long ago I watched a short film about this sorta thing on the Sci-Fi channel. Some dude invented a machine called "Bliss" or something like that and everyone chose that over the real world. Rather sad, but quite the intense messege. I love it
