I still need to watch the last two eps, but the show wasn't as bad as I expected, even though the low budget was visible. Villentretenmerth was particularly disappointing, but Duny was done very well, I think.
What bothered me a bit was how they focused so much on Yennefer. I never liked her, neither in the books nor the game, she's just a shrew with a mother complex, imho. I guess it was a feminist approach, also the blackwashing bothered me a bit, it just creates a dissonance with your general medieval impressions/expectations (this also bothered me in Mary Queen of Scots, half her court was black and asian... that just wasn't a thing back then >.<)
Henry Cavill was too smug for my taste, I remembered Geralt more cynical, more striking than handsome in the books. Cavill's brooding didn't work for me because it felt shallow, he was trying to be handsome and charismatic too much.
The sword fight in the first episode though was one of the best I've ever seen.
