Description
For your sake I wished you had listenedI think we both really should have tried a little harder
but maybe just for a second we can forget it ever went wrong.
I promise I've learned to be honest and now I'm at a loss for words,
because these memories of you cycle like constant regrets,
and this thing I'm feeling is nostalgic like a sleeping giant.
Darling I'm afraid I've been asleep at the wheel.
So come take my hand,
and keep this dream lingering just a little longer,
I would like to waste a little more time with you before you go.
*1/25/2011- A lot about this painting has bothered me since I completed it back in Nov. 2010, so I decided to re-visit it. This time I determined that the issue was it was missing the "Nostalgia". I altered the color scheme to a sepia tone to give it the real feel I originally wanted. Now, I can Say I'm actually happy with it. Sometimes, you just have to walk away from something before you can make it right. I guess such is true in life as well...

Very cool, the background intrigues me. Is it a giant tsunami about to sweep them away?

I tried to make the clouds look like a swelling ocean wave, but more for just appearance than imagery.

True story, sometimes you definitely need to walk away from something before you can see the flaws and revisit it.

I always try my best to put distance between me and a piece. I will pause for days before beginning again and that's how my process plays out... Also why I only do a few pieces a year.

Amazing piece with the ruins in the foreground. I think this is a pretty cool piece, I especially like the color palette, like something from a fantasy movie.

This is wonderful; I like that it demanded a second look to get the full impact. And I like that it invited a second look. Very nice work!
