Description
The C16 is a new weapon derived for the need of a standard heavy machinegun and a standardized weapon for doorgunners on VTOLs. The weapon fires 12 x 65mm round and a practical range of 2000 meters and feeds from a 100-round box magazine. A monolithic rail system is on top and allows for the mounting of various sighting accessories, as well as the bottom. A Knopler multi-spectral sight is mounted as standard and designed to be operated as mounted above. Parallax free the sight can be adjusted for users, or removed for other sights. For the doorgun mount the weapon draws power through standardized mountings. In the dismount mode the weapon is powered by a lithium battery good for 2000 rounds before needing replacing. The weapon weighs 6kg in the dismounted mode and uses composites to reduce weight. Weapon is inspired from Elysium and Aaron Beck's concept art for weapons for that movie.
