Origin:
Modera first appeared after a massive earthquake exposed a system of caverns in the Pacific. Expeditions to the area since then have produced evidence that it was an engineered weapon by an ancient society, rather like Atlantis or Mu. The assumption is that the creature turned on them and destroyed their city, whatever survivors there were probably disappeared into other populations. Modera’s behavior can be erratic and is generally unpredictable, suggesting that the animal is somehow lacking all its faculties, likely from an error in its construction. The attack it fires from its shell is of such power that the current hypothesis is that it is fusion based, drawing in the needed scarce isotopes from the water.
Abilities/Aspects:
Modera’s energy attack is possibly the most powerful found amongst kaiju, but it takes a notable amount of time for it to fire again, during the lull between shots it will usually submerge. Modera has thus far proven impossible to characterize, at times it is aggressive, at other times passive and sometimes it will even avoid potential trouble.
