Description [ 7P 3 ]

This is my very first posted Pattern for Photoshop CS. I made them because I wanted to make some parchment paper in Photoshop and actually got these off of drawings done by Leonardo Da Vinci.

Don't let my image above fool you. I used "Paperbrushes" by chain for that crinkled and photocopied edges and also "Stain Brushes" by poison-stock112 for that stained look.

***I will any Dev's that uses my patterns***

Parchment Paper pattern/texture was done by me. Total time: Approximately 10 mins

Best way to use them

Make a selection and then just fill with which of the 7 Parchment Patterns you'd like to use.

It is a seamless pattern so you can make any size piece of paper you want.

I'm going to be using your textures for my comics, as I'm looking for a storybook sort of feel and using these textures on top of the lineart and coloring. There's going to be a lot of pages so instead of telling you about each one I thought I would just tell you now. ^__^

Very Nice patterns. They wer either too light or too dark on their own, but they went well with this tutorial [link] to make this! [link]

Thank you for this.

The patten edges tile very cleanly. The textures are subtle and the repetition is not distracting, even on large areas.

Thank you for a useful pattern and your hard work.

I made them for PS7+ but I don't know if they can work in gimp. Can you do that? You could give it a try.

dacrazycat In reply to ericsalvi [2008-10-31 21:16:51 +0000 UTC]

no I mean when I download the file is it a gimp file!! so how do I get it in PS?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ericsalvi In reply to dacrazycat [2008-11-01 03:19:15 +0000 UTC]

actually its a .pat file (ps pattern file) just go into your photoshop folders and look for the pattern folder. Then copy this file to that folder.

When in PS, goto the pattern window (I get there from the fill option, to fill with a pattern) and then select the pattern to use.

These are pretty fantastic and exactly what I am looking for. I am working on a university assignment, customizing google maps, and I wanted it to have an old-map feeling, so I can use these to overlay over the top, and they look really cool I will show you when it is finished if you want!

This is great!

But, I'd like to use it on a website... can I extract the graphic from the .pat file, or can you tell me the dimensions of each pattern?

help please first time DLing textures and patterns. wheni download them, which folder do i put them in? O.o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ericsalvi In reply to aleckzandurh [2008-08-01 19:53:23 +0000 UTC]

You have to first open up your adobe folder in your list of programs, then head to PS then open up the preset folder and then into patterns the patterns I have made will go.

Once they are in there... then open up PS and goto your fill window and you should have the parchment ones already in there... if not you have to load them from within the fill window.

If you need more help let me know.

uhm i use GIMP not photoshop. but i was reading and they said that GIMP is compatible with photoshop. i thought this was true because i managed to download PS brushes into GIMP and they worked. i just thot these patterns would work the same way. if you find out how to do it, please let me kno. thanks for answering back! XD

well I dont know how to import patterns into GIMP.... I would just search google and check it out. I could search google and tell you or you could probably just do it yourself too.
